Registration For Terry Fox Run At Wescoast

In 1977, Terry Fox, a young 18 year old Canadian had his right leg amputated due to bone cancer. While in hospital, Terry was so overcome by the suffering of other cancer patients, many of them being young children, that he decided to run across Canada to raise money for Cancer Research. He would call his journey The Marathon of Hope. Although he lost his own battle against cancer in 1981, Terry’s legacy lives on through an annual fund-raising run held in his name in 60 countries worldwide.

Here in HCMC, the Canadian community has been hosting the annual Terry Fox Run since 1997. Last year’s run was the largest to date, drawing the enthusiastic involvement of 9,200  participants and  raising an impressive VND850,000,000. From past donations, we have recently purchased an ultrasound machine for the Oncology Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City!

This year we hope  to build on  last year’s  success: please bring your friends and family and join us for the 5km run at the Crescent, Phu My Hung, District 7. You can walk, run, bike or roller blade and enjoy the festivities, including music, games and more!

You can bring your registration form at Westcoast International Dental Clinic (27 Nguyen Trung Truc, D.1) and participate with us.

Let’s celebrate together the 15th Annual Terry Fox Run in HCMC!
